Hi eh,
So – you be interested in d' gyroplane, eh...

Aside from Rotary Air Force (RAF; 430 completed and flying), other gyroplane companies with a large number completed-and-flown:
      · Air Command International (710+)
      · Ken Brock Manufacturing (350)
      · and, of course, the ultimate gyro—RotoryWay's Exec 162F helicopter! (300) listed in chart

To see how gyroplanes fit into the big picture , these specs compare the RAF 2000 with other aircraft with STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) capabilities. And to a selection of other homebuilt aircraft kits, including a really big-load-hauler, and motorgliders :'-)

There are some interesting comparisons—note that the RagWing Stork can takeoff and land in only 30 feet (or so they say). A couple have a stall speed below 20 mph. Then there are the amphibians ("flying-boats")—or add floats to the Kitfox IV or any of the STOL kits.

Ultralight aircraft definedCanadian regulations
If the maximum takeoff weight is 1,200 pounds or less, it may be flown with an Ultralight permit provided the stall speed is 45 mph or less (source: COPA's Canadian Flight Annual '99).
Ultralight licence—"Pilot Permit - Ultralight Aeroplanes"
Ultralight flying is grassroots aviation at its best and is the easiest "licence" to get. Ultralight student pilots must be a least 14-years-old to fly solo. Final permit applicants must be at least 16-years-old. A minimum of 10 hours of flying training is required on ultralights. The Ultralight Permit is valid in Canada only, for day flying, in good weather, without passengers. Government and industry are developing pilot and aircraft standards to allow passenger-carrying in two-place ultralights.
