  Tents – bug-proof, totally äâ
• The standard type of camping shelter, but certainly not the only type! Why lock yourself inside a little enclosed room (the standard issue tent)? Consider also the other options on this page (tarptents (below), pyramids & shaped tarps (below), basic tarps (below), camping hammocks (below), bivy sacks (below)). Please do sleep with a view!
•  Also consider the following tarptents (below), pyramid and shaped-tarp (below) that can be converted into tents:

• Sleeping bags with "Arm and feet holes" are an ideal match for hammocks (and great for other shelters too). I've got 5km in mine walking & photographing sunrises its first weekend. The quilts are good too.
• A comparative hands-on review of 11 lightweight sleeping bags (manufacturer's spec'ed -7 to +1*C (15 to 32*F) & 1.2 to 2.3 pounds [unfortunately, the 1.0lb WM HighLite wasn't included]).
• Sleeping bags For Two...
a) Zip together two regular bags. Not as simple as it sounds - you must make sure that the two bags support mating. (Bags with double-slider zippers cannot be joined.) Advantage: two bags can be used separately when needed.
b) Add a Sweetie Pie Bag Doubler (4*c/0.8lb/$79; -12*c/1.6lb/$99) to your sleeping bag. Just take your bag when you go solo.
c) Two-person sleeping bag such as Nunatak Gear's Dual Alpinist (down/-6*c/3.1lb/$500).
d) Quilts: velcro two single quilts, or request a two-person Arc-Aplinist be made.
